TESTING WHILE ON MEDICATIONS
- Individuals on Calcium Channel Blockers or Beta Blockers for heart related conditions can still benefit from metabolic testing. Fasting should not include the cessation of your normal perscription medication routine.
- Graded intensity exercise test is modified not to exceed anaerobic threshold. All normal recorded information takes place.
PREPARING FOR YOUR TEST
- Before your testing you will need to fast for 12 hours. Only water and prescription medication should be taken during your fast. You may want to bring a snack for after your test. You should dress appropriately for exercise activity. If you are performing your exercise test on the bike, you may want to bring your cycling shoes.
- During the resting test you will be sitting in a chair for approximately 20min. You can not sleep, read, or perform any activities that could excite you during the resting test.
- During the VO2 testing you will be exercising on either a treadmill, eliptical, or bicycle (depending on your preference) for approximately 8-12 minutes.
- Both tests require you to wear a ventilation mask which covers your nose and mouth in order to catch all expired air for analysis. Please refrain from wearing any consmetics.
- You will be prompeted during your sign-up process to fill out a medical history questionnaire. If you have problems, please contact Kelly or Tyler below.
